So, I've been trying a few recipes in the new HG. Some of them I liked, some of them I didn't. Now, the ones I didn't would have been good if I liked a couple of the ingredients, but I was willing to try! Sometimes I like them depending how it's cooked.
I tried the Peanut Butter and Banana Stuffed French Toast. I would've liked it except I do not like cream cheese. But I wanted to try and make sure. Nope, I still do not like cream cheese. Lol! The concept of this recipe though is great. I wish I liked cream cheese. I really do! So I'll probably leave it out and just use peanut butter. That's just me though. If you like cream cheese, you will like this recipe.
I tried the Chicken Enchilada Casserole. I really liked this one. I am a vegetarian so I don't eat chicken, but I used vegetarian chicken. Loved it! You can use real chicken too, but like I said I don't eat it and it was great! I might try it with refined beans. That would be good too.
I tried some of the foil recipes, Stuffed Mushrooms and Brussels Sprouts. It was so good. Both of them. Not a huge fan of Brussels Sprouts usually, but wow! I actually really liked it! And the mushrooms were my favorite. But I love mushrooms anyway!
I tried the Cheesy Pasta Swap. The idea of this is great, but I didn't like it. It was because of the crushed tomatoes. I would love it if I used tomato sauce. It wasn't bad, but I don't like crushed tomatoes. I knew I wasn't going to liked crushed tomatoes because I'm not fussy for cooked tomatoes unless it's in a sauce. I absolutely hate those full canned tomatoes. And I really only like raw tomatoes or tomato sauce. But I was willing to try it and I did. Next time I make it, it'll be with tomato sauce.
That's the whole point of cooking. Improving recipes to make them something I like. That's what I love about Hungry Girl. All these ideas are great and even if I don't like some of the ingredients, I try it the way it's supposed to be made to make sure and then I change it for what I like. Usually it's the same calorie count. :D
That's it for now. Definitely recommend the newest Hungry Girl!
